How did sectionalism emerge in the 1820s? compare the priorities of the reigions

each region thought they were there own regions

This happened because each region thought of themselves as individual regions and not part of the United States as a whole with different regions working together. Instead, the north prioritized trade, shipping and manufacturing and the south tended to focus on agriculture.
