so you can subsitute and make each equation equal to the other
4x+6=2x+2
subtract 2x form boht sides
2x+6=2
subtract 6 form both sides
2x=-4
sivide by 2
x=-2
subsitute
y=2(-2)+2
y=-4+2
y=-2
the solution is x=-2 y=-2
