x+(1)/(3)x+(1)/(8)x=70 \\ (24)/(24)x+(8)/(24)x+(3)/(24)x=70 \\ (35)/(24)x=70 \\ x=70 * (24)/(35) \\ x=2 * 24 \\ x=48

The number is 48.
