$20 total


p= sales tax from purchase

s= sales tax percentage

ts=p\\20s=2 \\ s= (2)/(20) \\ s=.1

.1(100)=10
10% sales tax

t=6+2(3.5)+2(3.5)

t=6+7+7

t=20
$20 total


p= sales tax from purchase

s= sales tax percentage

ts=p \\20s=1\\ s= (1)/(20) \\ s=.05

.05(100)=5
5% sales tax
