there is 12 inches in a foot. 1/3 of a foot would be 4 inches

take 9 x 12 (Inches in a foot) = 108 and divide by four

the answer is 27. so he can get 27 ribbons out of 9 ft. of ribbon

Answer with explanation:

Total Length of Ribbon = 9 feet

Length of Ribbon used to make bookmark
=(1)/(3)foot

Total number of ribbons Jim can make from 9 feet of ribbon

=\frac{\text{Total Length of Ribbon}}{\text{Length of ribbon used to make bookmark}}\\\\=(9)/((1)/(3))\\\\=9 * 3=27

=27 Ribbons
