According to data provided by the World Bank, with information provenient for organisms such as the United Nations Statistics Division, U.S. Census Bureau: International Database, and Secretariat of the Pacific Community Statistics and Demography Programme, among others, New Zealand's population in 2008 was aproximately 4.26 million, around a fifth of the population of Australia in that moment.
