Answer to -8x+2x-16<-5x+7x

-8x + 2x - 16 < -5x + 7x

Combine like terms on separate signs of the inequality

-6x - 16 < 2x

Add 6x over to 2x

-16 < 8x

Divide both sides by 8

-2 < x

Switch the whole equation so x is on the left (I usually do this to make it easier to graph)

x > -2
