It said to find an equivalent fraction, divide both the numerator and denominator by the same number,such as 4. How can i do that?!?!?

So if you had the fraction 2/8 and 1/4 you would divide both 2 and 8 by 2 giving you 1/4. Now you have the fractions 1/4 and 1/4.
