The castle was under siege by the invading army and many feared that the castle would fall under the invaders control. Congress voted to ratify the constitutional amendment. The military unit led an ambush on a supply convoy in the middle of the night hoping to catch them off guard.

Siege: it means the surrounding of a place by an armed force in order make people there come out or give up control of the place, like a blockade.

Example: The siege is ready; the enemy can’t escape and will have to surrender.

Ratify: it is used to make an agreement official (to approve or confirm), especially of governments or organizations – or also

Example: The decision will not be needed to be ratified by the council.

Ambush: Is used for when a group of people, for example, hide and wait to suddenly attack someone, like a trap.

Example: Some soldiers got injured after an ambush at their camping site.
