The 1 in 10 is the number your multiplying and 0 stays behind because any thing times 0 is 0

Answer:

According to the multiplication property, the product of any number and zero is zero i.e, when you multiply a number to zero, you get zero as the answer.

Explanation:

According to the multiplication property, the product of any number and zero is zero i.e, when you multiply a number to zero, you get zero as the answer.

A multiple of 10 is of form 10, 20, 30, .....i.e, A0 where 0 is at ones place and A is the remaining number on the left side of 0.

So, if calculate A0 × B

First, we multiply B by 0 and as per the property mentioned above , we get 0 as the digit in unit place in the product term then we will multiply B by A to get the remaining digits of the product.

That is why product of a multiple of 10 and a number will have a zero in the ones place.
