there are a total of 127 cars and trucks on a lot. If there are four more than twice the number of trucks than cars , how many cars and trucks are on the lot ?

c + t = 127 ;
t = 2c + 4;
then, c + 2c + 4 = 127;
3c = 123;
c = 123 / 3 ;
c = 41 ( cars )
t = 2 * 41 + 4 = 88 ( trucks ).
