\left \{ {{y=x-2} \atop {x=17-4y}} \right. \\\\ substitute\ y=x-2\ to\ second\ equation\\\\ x=17-4(x-2)\\\\ x=17-4x+8\\\\ x=25-4x\ \ \ | add\ 4x\\\\ 5x=25\ \ \ | divide\ by\ 5\\\\ x=5\\\\ y=x-2=5-2=3
