The answer is 10 cups

2 (2)/(4) =2+ (2)/(4) = (2)/(1) +(2)/(4) =(2*4)/(1*4) +(2)/(4) =(8)/(4) +(2)/(4) =(8+2)/(4) =(10)/(4)

So, now let's divide 2 2/4 by 1/4:

2(2)/(4) : (1)/(4) =(10)/(4) :(1)/(4) =(10)/(4) *(4)/(1) =(40)/(4) =10
