In simple words, a function is increasing when the bigger is x, the bigger is y.
In your case it's true for

x\in\langle-4,-2\rangle\\ x\in\langle3,4\rangle

So the correct answers are A and D.

I would say from x=-4 to x=-2 and also from x=3 to x=4.
because those are the points where they are going up as in increasing, i think you get it ;)
so A and D would be your answers.
