What does x equal if 2.3-5x=3x-5.7 and can you please explain how to do this thanks?

x=1
on both sides add 5.7
you get 8.0-5x=3x
you add 5x to both sides and get
8.0=8x
divide both sides by 8 you get
1=x

2.3-5x=3x-5.7 \\ \\-5x -3x = -5.7 - 2.3 \\ \\-8x = -8 \ \ /: (-8) \\ \\x=1
