the equation of a line passing through the point (x1,y1) and having a slope of m is
y-y1=m(x-x1)

the slope of the line passing through 2 points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

given
(-5,6) and (1,1)
slope=(1-6)/(1-(-5))=-5/(1+5)=-5/6

points are (1,1) or (-5,6)

y-1=-5/6(x-1)
y-6=-5/6(x-(-5)), y-6=-5/6(x+5)
