A fruit stand sells bananas by the pound. The sign at the fruit stand states "2 pounds for $5.00."

Sam said, "The ratio of the number of dollars to the number of pounds is 5:2. The cost of the bananas is $2.50 per pound."

Maria said, "The ratio of the number of pounds to the number of dollars is 2:5. That is 0.40 pounds per dollar."

Which student(s) made a correct statement?
