This month Papa has seen on his bird feeder the birds are :

Blue jays = 59

Black crows = 68

Red robins = 12

Cardinal = 1

Total birds are seen in the month

= 59 + 68 + 12 + 1 = 140 birds

Out of 140 birds there are 59 Blue jays. Now we calculate what percentage of blue jays visited this month.

59 Blue jays out of 140 birds

To get the percentage :


(59)/(140)×100

= 42.14% rounded to 42% approx.

Out of 140 birds blue jays are 42%.

If 300 birds visit Papa's bird feeder, expected numbers of blue jays are :

= 42% of 300
