Thomas age = X
Huilan age = X + 10
Sum of both ages = 102.
How old is Thomas?
X + X + 10 = 102
2x + 10 = 102
2x = 102 - 10
2x = 92
X = 92/2
X = 46.
Thomas is 46 years old.
