at the playground, the new sandbox was 3 meters wide and 2 meters long. what is the area of the sandbox

For any rectangle (like a sandbox) the area is equal to the length times the width. The length of this rectangle is 2 and the width is 3, so the area is equal to 2 m*3 m=6 square meters

area = length times width

area = 2 meters * 3 meters

area = 6 m^2
