Answer is 30.0mL

according to the question dilution is performed by the student which can be calculated with the help of :

M_(1)V_(1)=M_(2)V_(2)
EQUATION (1)

Here, we have:

M_(1) = 3M

V_(1) = y mL

M_(2)= 1.80 M

V_(2) = 50.0mL

putting the known values in equation (1) which will give us value of
V_(1)

3.00× y =1.80 ×50.0

y= 30.0mL
