Volume of 1 cord of wood


= L * B * H

Substituting the give values we get

Volume of 1 cord of wood
= 4 * 8 * 4

Volume of pile
= 4 * 16 * 4

Number of cord in one pile of wood is equal to volume of pile divided by volume of one cord


(4*16*4)/(4*8*4) = 2

There will be two cords of wood in one pile of wood.
