Esmeralda collected data about the number of compact discs (cds) sold at a music store during part of the 1980s and early 1990s. an equation for the line of best fit for the given data is y = 518x - 43886 where x = 0 means the year 1900. the point (88, 1497) was one of the points. what is the difference between the observed value and the predicted value at x=88?

This is done by solving the question using the linear equation. If x=0 then y = -43,886 udring the year 1900. If x=88, then y=1698. The difference between the observed value and tthe predicted value at the value of x is 42,188.
