The speaker in “mending wall” feels the wall is (1 point) unnecessary since they have different types of orchards. important for keeping good relationships in the neighborhood. a tradition that reminds him of his father’s generation and era. a way to stay in constant communication with those who live around him.

In the poem, the speaker asks his neighbor about whether or not the wall is actually needed and if they need to repair it. The neighbor responds with the answer "Good fences make good neighbors". He is saying that they're better neighbors because of the wall and they mind their won business. The speaker however, does not see it's purpose. He talks about how the apple and pine trees aren't the same and therefore have begun to quarrel and battle each other.
