-2 -2 (since it is positive we have to subtract it)

then, we multiply 4 on both sides, so the 4 gets canclled out.

4 x 4 = a/4 x 4

16 = a

now we check by replacing a in the equation with 16.

6 = 16/4 + 2

6 = 4 + 2

6 = 6 . that means it is correct.
