There are 6 diagonals that can be drawn from one vertex of an octagon, true or false.

An octagon has 8 vertices. A diagonal of a polygon is a line joining two non adjacent vertices. Taking away two adjacent vertices of the originating vertex, we have 5 vertices remaining.
Thus there can only be a maximum of 5 diagonals from an octagon.

Therefore, the statement is false.
