Write an algebraic rule to describe the translation P(–8, 6).

We have to translate the point P ( - 8, 6 ) to P ` ( - 10, 2 ).
- 10 = - 8 - 2
2 = 6 - 4
The translation rule is:
( x `, y ` ) = ( x - 2 , y - 4 )
