Winning speed in 2004 = 500/(3 + 15/(60 * 60)) = 500/3.004 = 166.4 miles/hour
Winning speed in 1911 = 500/(6 + 42/60) = 500/6.7 = 74.63 miles/hour
The average winning speed in 2004 was (166.4 - 74.63) = 92 miles per hour faster than in 1911.
