It seems that you have missed the bold print word in the given quote, but anyway, I will just try to given the meaning of the complicated words in this quote. Delicacy: the quality of being delicate; luxury. Vex:
implies greater provocation and stronger disturbance; connotes anger. Conundrums: A difficult problem; puzzle. Hope these helps.
