The usual wholesale cost is $3.25 per item. a vendor sells items to your store at a special discount of 20%. what price will the store pay per item?

usual wholesale cost = $3.25 per item
special discount = 20%
We can solve this using the equation:
P = C (1 - D)
where P is the price that the store will py
C is the original price
D is the discount

Substituting:
P = $3.25 (1 - 0.20)
P = $2.6

The price will $2.6 per item.
