The order of operations for evaluating expressions has a certain order. There is an easy way to remember it called PEMDAS. First, you solve the parentheses, which is the P. Then you solve exponents, which is the E. Then the M is multiplication. D is division. A is addition. S is subtraction. You have to do it in that specific order. You also, in order to get it right, have to do it left to right.
