When the function f(x) = x^4, is changed to f[(1/2)x], the function will shrink vertically by a factor of (1/2)^4 = 1/16

This is, for the same x values, the image of f(1/2x) will be 1/16 the value of f(x)

For example, for x = 2 the value of f(x) = 2^4 = 16, and the value of f[(1/2)x] = [(1/2)*2]^4 = 1 .

1 = [1/16] * 16 => f(1) = [1/16] f(2)
