This could be all of the above. If you are unemployed, you can't get the money you need. If you have low wages, you don't have enough for your family to support them. If you are dealing with an illness you can't work, therefore, won't get any money.

The correct answer is D.

Unemployment, low wages and illness are all a cause of poverty for families.

Unemployment means there is no money earned by doing a job and the family has to rely on saving or welfare to survive. If both parents are unemployed, the situation is even worse and acute poverty may occur. Unemployment is often associated with being lazy or not looking hard enough for a job, which lowers the family's opinion and prestige in society and has a very negative effect on children.

Low wages means some money is coming in from a job but the amount earned is not enough to survive on. This may cause poverty as well because some financial help/loans may be needed which could put the family into debts.

Illness can lead to poverty as well because it limits one individual's ability to work. Being ill means staying at home and often getting into financial debts because of medical bills.
