Answer:

The correct option is D. $7

Explanation:

Let cost of each popcorn be x and cost of each program be y

Mike went to a football game with his family. They bought 5 boxes of popcorn, and 3 programs and spent $41

So, The equation which models this situation is given by :

⇒ 5x + 3y = 41 ........(1)

Also, Sean’s family went to the same game, bought 3 boxes of popcorn, and 2 programs and spent $26

So, The equation which models this situation is given by :

⇒ 3x + 2y = 26 .........(2)

On solving equations (1) and equation (2)

We get, x = 4 and y = 7

Hence, Cost of each popcorn at the game = $4

Cost of each program at the game = $7

Therefore, The correct option is D. $7

5 x + 3 y = 41 / * 3
3 x + 2 y = 26 / * ( - 5 )
-----------------------------
15 x + 9 y = 123
+
- 15 x - 10 y = - 130
---------------------------
- y = - 7 / * ( - 1 )
y = 7

Each program costs D ) $7
