To calculate the distance the toy car traveled, you have to add all the given translations of the touy car

Distance (d)

d=6+7+2+3+6+10=34

The toy car traveled a distance of 34cm

To determine the displacement you have to calculate the difference between the final position of the car and the initial position of the cat. To know the final position of the car you have to plot its movements on a grid.

In the grid, each square equal 1 cm, if you count the number of squares, on a vertical line from the start to the finish, you'll determine the displacement of the car.

The starting point is "position zero" and the finishing point is 10 cm away from the start on a vertical line.

So the total displacement of the car is 10 cm

The toy car traveled 6 cm south, 7 cm east, 2 cm south, 3 cm east, 6 cm north and-example-1
