Thallus
(plural: thalli
), from Latinized Greek θαλλός (thallos), meaning "a green shoot" or "twig," is the undifferentiated vegetative tissue of some organisms in diverse groups such as algae, fungi, some liverworts, lichens, and the Myxogastria.
