let x be the amount of 20% acid
24-x be the amount of 100% acid
100%(24-x) + 20%(x) = 50%(24)
(24-x) + .2x = 12
12 = .8x
x=15
24-x =9
~15 L of 20% acid and 9 L of 100% acid
