Answer:

At the end of 4 months the cost of both plans will be same.

Option (D) is correct.

Explanation:

Let us assume that the number of months be x.

As given

Two competing cable companies have recently restructured their payment plans.

Clear TV requires a $30 activation fee and charges $75 per month for their basic plan.

Equation becomes

Cost of Clear T V = Activation fee + Monthly charge for x months

= 30 + 75x

Link TV requires no activation fee and charges $82.50 per month for their basic plan.

Cost of Link TV = Monthly charge for x months

= 82.50x

Compare the cost of both TV .

Cost of Clear T V = Cost of Link TV

30 + 75x = 82.50x

30 = 82.50x - 75x

30 = 7.5X

x = (30)/(7.5)

x = 4

Therefore at the end of 4 months the cost of both plans will be same.

Option (D) is correct.

D. At four months... Link Tv IS 82.50 a month .... when you multiply by 4, you get 330... Clear TV is 105... for first months bill and activation fee, and then you multiply 75 by 3, you get 225... 225 plus 105 equals 330 :)
