Homeostasis is the ability of the body to maintain internal balance despite changing external conditions. How does the respiratory system help maintain homeostasis?

The two most important homeostatic functions of respiration is control of body PH and regulation of gas exchange. The respiratory system control the amount of oxygen that enter the body system and eliminate carbon dioxide from the body. This helps the to maintain its homeostatic balance.
