Math 7.

I need help with adding linear expressions.

Add the following linear expression:

(-9x - 5) + (-3x - 3) =

I think the answer is 54 because negative times a  negative number equals positive and 9x5 is 45 + another negative times negative so 3x3 is 9 so add 45+9 which is 54.

(-9x - 5) + (-3x - 3) =
combine the x terms, then the constants:
-9x - 5 -3x - 3 =
-12x - 8
