Convert percent to a decimal. 7.5% = 0.075
multiply. 35* 0.075 =2.62

35 * 0.075 =
2.63
$35 + $2.63 = $37.63
Whenever you are calculating sales tax, just multiply the cost of the item by the tax (convert the percent to decimal).
