Calculate the area of the entire circle first.

A = 3.15 (r) ^2

A = 3.15 (2.25) ^2

Now calculate the area of the white circle

Take the radius - 1.5 to calculate the radius of the white circle

A = 3.15 (.75)^2

Now subtract your two answers
