AB + BC = AC , substitute values

13 + 2x + 12 = x + 32

2x + 25 = x + 32 ( subtract x from both sides )

x + 25 = 32 ( subtract 25 from both sides )

x = 7

Thus

AB = 13 + 2x = 13 + 2(7) = 13 + 14 = 27
