Answer:

Unit rate defined as the rates are expressed as the quantity as 1 such as 2 miles per hour or 3 meters per second.

Given the statement: Lea walked 1/2 miles in 1/3 hours

\text{Unit rate per miles} = \frac{\text{Number of hours}}{\text{Number of miles}}

Substitute the given values we get;

\text{Unit rate per miles} = ((1)/(3))/((1)/(2))

Simplify:

\text{Unit rate per miles}=(2)/(3)

Now, find the number of hours it take Lea to walk
2(1)/(4) miles.

Number of miles =
2(1)/(4)=(9)/(2)

By definition of unit rates;

\text{Number of hours}= \text{Unit rate per miles}* \text{Number of miles}

Substitute the values we get;

\text{Number of hours} = (2)/(3) * (9)/(4) = (3)/(2) = 1(1)/(2)

therefore,
1(1)/(2) hours it will take Lea to walk
2(1)/(4) miles.
