If the diver started at 82 feet below the surface, we can say that it started at -82ft. Then, it rose in 5 steps of 15ft each, it means we need to add 5 times 15ft to the initial position to know diver's current position:


-82+5\cdot15=-7

The integer that describes diver's new position is -7.
