The energy stored in the ball is elastic potential energy cuz after compression( after loosing contact from racket) , the ball regains it's original shape. Hope it helps :)

Answer:

elastic potential energy

Step-by-step explanation:

Elastic potential energy:

The energy stored in an elastic object when a force is applied on it and the shape of object is deformed is known as elastic potential energy. The energy is stored in the elastic object till the object is deformed.

when a tennis ball smashes into a tennis racket the ball temporarily changes shape as it compresses against the racket at that time energy stored in ball is elastic potential energy.Because shape of ball is changed due to racket and when it moves away from the racket it will regain its original shape so energy stored in the ball must be elastic potential energy.
