A.Find the slope of the line passing through the points (-3, 1 ) and ( 1, -1 ) B. Find (a) the slope and (b) the y-intercept of the graph of the equation x+y=5. explain please!

A) Find the slope using the formula,


m=(y_1-y_0)/(x_1-x_0)=(-1-1)/(1+3)=-1/2

B) Put the equation in the standard form, y=mx+n, then compare to obtain the slope m and the intercept n,


y=-x+5

Then m=-1, the slope, and n=5, the intercept.
