If there are 12 values in a data set, in order from smallest to largest, what is the median of the data set?

I would say D because if you write 1-12 on a piece of paper and you put one finger on one end and do the same to the other end and you bring your fingers close you will wind up having 6 and 7 left.

Median= (6^(th) term+7^(th) term)/(2)

Explanation:

Median is always the middle value of a well-arranged data set i.e. in ascending or descending order.

But in case of even no. of values in the data set, as here the case is, we get two middle values.

Here we have the 6th value and the 7th value as our middle term so we take the average of both the values in such a case.
