The way the rectangle was shaded, it shows a right triangle so,
To find the area of a triangle:
A= Base x Height divided by 2
A= 4 x 2.5 divided by 2
A= 10 divided by 2
A= 5cm

The shaded regions' area is 5cm.

Hope this helped!! :)

4*2.5=10 /2= 5 because to find area you do width times height and since its a triangle you divide by two since two triangles make a full quadralateral
