\begin{gathered} \text{The slope-intercept form is;} \\ y\text{ = -}(1)/(2)x\text{ + 4} \end{gathered}

Here, we want to write the given equation in the slope-intercept form

Mathematically, we have the general form of the slope-intercept form as follows;

y\text{ = mx + b}

where m represents the slope and b represents the y-intercept

So in clearer terms, all we need do is to isolate y which is same as making y the subject of the formula

We have this as;

\begin{gathered} 8y\text{ = -4x+32} \\ \text{divide through by 8} \\ (8y)/(8)\text{ = -}(4x)/(8)+\text{ }(32)/(8) \\ \\ y\text{ = -}(1)/(2)x\text{ + 4} \end{gathered}
